WDG in motion is a community partnership working to improve the health of our region by encouraging 30 minutes of daily physical activity for all residents. Our mission is to create a culture of physical activity in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph. Guelph in motion's goal is to support the vision and mission of the WDG in motion strategy by creating supportive environment, reducing barriers to physical activity and building momentum towards individual, organizational and community adoption of physical activity focused practices. We have representatives from: - City of Guelph

- University of Guelph (5 departments)
- Health & Performance Centre
- Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health
- YMCA/YWCA of Guelph
- Community volunteers
We also have a separate, specific Workplace Committee with representatives from 15 area organizations and businesses. This committee empowers workplaces to promote physical activity by offering low-cost, simple ideas to implement; evaluation guidelines and tools; and opportunities for partners to share, network, and celebrate successes. Why is in motion important?- 91% of Canadian children are NOT active enough, yet 9 out of 10 parents think their kids are fit.
- 25% of pre-school children are overweight or obese.
- Over ½ WDG residents report being inactive.
- 25% of Guelph residents are less active than 2 years ago.
