History

The Indigenous Healing & Wellness Program is a multifaceted community-driven program that has been hosted by the Guelph Community Health Centre since April 2017. Born out of the recommendations from the 2015-2016 Aboriginal Health and Wellness Pilot Project of the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre, the Indigenous Healing & Wellness program is LHIN funded.

The Indigenous Healing & Wellness Program is community governed and designed to be responsive to the self-determined needs of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis community members of the Guelph-Wellington & Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Regions.

The IHWP is grounded in the holistic Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual (PMES) model of wellbeing and seeks to provide culturally safe access to health and wellness services.
